OASIS Stray News
OASIS and the City of Camden have worked out a deal to better the City’s current dog poundsituation and make sure the facility is being used to help stray animals. OASIS will assist the city with adoptions as much as possible, but the main focus of OASIS will be to provide low cost spay neuter certificates for the community. This focus will help reduce the number of unwanted pets in our community & take the burden off OASIS of having to put animals to sleep just because no homes are available. Donations & Fundraisers will need to continue to fund this program. OASIS sells the certificates on the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month from 10 AM until 12 Noon @ Waggin Tails 1825 Fairview Road in Camden. The fees are $35 for cats, $50 for dogs under 50# and $65 for dogs over 50#. This makes a discount of over 1/2 the normal cost. These certificates are only available to Ouachita County residents & can be used @ Camden Animal Hospital or Maul Road Animal Clinic in Camden. Prevention of unwanted litters will decrease the number of stays in our community. Other Areas of Focus OASIS Transport Van To take stray pets to Pet Mart & Petco in larger populated areas to find homes. Prison Dog Training Program Inmates in State Prison trains stray dogs for useful purposes such as service dogs & search/rescue dogs. Foster Care Program Homes to temporarily care for animals in need.
